Undergraduate Student

Research projects in my lab are largely computational, and students are expected to be able to perform data analysis and computer programming. If you are interested in working in my lab, you should have taken or consider taking the Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics (447:302) and/or the Computational Genetics for Big Data (447:303) You also should consider learning some programming skills (e.g. python). Graduate Student

I am a member of the Graduate Program in Molecular Biosciences and the Graduate Program in Quantitative Biomedicine. Graduate students who are interested in human genomics as well as evolutionary biology are encouraged to inquiry the possibility of joining the lab.

Postdoc

We are always interested in postdoctoral researchers who are passionate about human genomics. The candidate will work on projects related to the understanding of human genomic variation using high-throughput sequencing data. The candidate will also have opportunities to work on projects related to human evolution and disease-gene identification.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology or related fields. Experience in analyzing high-throughput genomic data is essential. The candidate should have a strong background in programming (perl/python/C++ or similar) and is familiar with statistical techniques and software (Matlab/R or similar). Experience with database programming (Oracle/MySQL) is desired.
